Hello lit.rice,
Thank you Thank you.
Something like electrical espresso machine with boiler & frothier.
Have you been SOGO and see the following Gaggia Lever machine before ?
It has been sold, I think someday, the owners of the machine/s know Fresh coffee beans & tea house and other good roasters in H.K. , so, just want to find some of the users to share the fun and experience.
Honestly no idea why it produces better espresso for ME.
Compare with pumps, it produces more crema and smoother espresso.
I hope I can post some near perfect shot *to ME video or photos in the near future.
Since it is quite sensitive with grinding and dosing.
None of video, I guess including pumps, none of them from grinding, dosing, extracting and throwing a nice puck...
Difficult to do it or when we can do it, we were not shooting...
Don't think lever must be expensive.
You are in better situation that you own a Moka pot,
could consider a lever when you decide to have espresso machine someday.
See the following 1950-80's machines video. And the waiting time after extracting.

This one is very good too:

I also like Gaggia Lever, it is very beautiful
... but it is too expensive.. around $10,000
About the price of your model shown before, it is quite reasonable..
similar with 4020...
I need more time to search my favor expresso machine, so still using my moka pot and filter. _________________

I also tried spring lever and manual lever machine to make espresso before, tastes are really good!
For lever espresso machine, I would prefer to buy "spring piston" version rather than manual one as the pressure is more consistent and can be reached 8 bar.
Seems "Elektra Micro Casa A Leva Chrome Espresso Machine " is a good choice and I am interested in it too~~
Or you have any recommendation?

Good taste ar Alvin,
MCaL is a good spring piston machine !
More about Elektra MCaL : http://www.coffeegeek.com/proreviews/detailed/microcasaleva
Yes, Spring lever gives more consistent pressure.
Even 50's - 60's La Peppina.
Manual needs more technique - I guess.
More fun too - for us - I guess.
Forget about some theories as we use pumps for a moment first.
It is more easy to convince us to try spring/lever.
I still have no idea why levers produces better shot for me.
I have asked some lever owners, who gave me the chart to explain something like this.
When we brewing with a rotary pump with stable 8-9.5 bar.
But the coffee is getting lighter and lighter during the extraction, lever will decrease / release the pressure during extraction - * I guess it may match the coffee gets lighter *.
You feel it before, for example, Spring with more pressure when we pull and start to brew, as the lever getting close to its back, the pressure would be lower and lower until no pressure.
NOT well for me to explain that. Not good enough English to explain.
SORRY.
May be see 1 see the following chart.
The Chrome Micro Casa costs about 7?0 Euro plus shipping.
Yes, very very good machine !
I also intro the following machine with same espresso quality as some overseas lever fans said. BOTH are good.
Better price, Save some $
I guess it also matches with your Silvia well. ~ Basic style.
Please think it serious, we are lack of lever fans.
By the way, the Micro Casa, I guess you are going to get a bottomless PF too.
It is very very GOOD, but cost about USD$120- ( *49mmONLY - MCaL, other sizes for other levers cost more) + shipping from U.S. special order from a metal work expert.
The original MCaL PF is not quite suitable for cut the bottom off due to it is quite thin to cut, not LOOK nice to fit your requirement too - I think.
By the way, share a tamper photo too. Enjoy...
MCaL comes with good size double basket which can hold 16-17.5g coffee.
Both are good machines, do you mind to have good refurbished machine?
Which costs lower, all levers are simple constructed that only needs new gaskets would be fine. Descale - depends on the condition.
Normally, 40% can be saved. But it may be 10-30years older than a New one, of course.
Most of old piston machines are worn by storage NOT used...
So, it is good option.
Warmly reminding *** Buy one more full set machine gasket at the same time when you buying a new piston machine !!
Someday, you are going to need it and you know it is a problem for us to get parts from outside - shipping cost a lot.
And gaskets always cost a lot.
NO NEED to buy lubricates, F.O.C. to all members here and your site's,
if anybody using SMALL HOME LEVER single group machine.
I am willing to give some if I still have some on hand and let me to play 1 play the lever .
Since the good Lubricates size is too large to buy one.
Levers, so good, so good.
Hope can help & Enjoy.
Thanks
