Oh I thought you mean using my pulsar for espresso machine.

I mean she is living in Hong Kong, and my set up is in USA. So it will impossible for her to use my set up.

Anyway, any other suggestion? or should I go second hand?

Better start from the lower grade equipment then upgrade half a year later to actually feel the improvement you could get by the upgrade.
First 600N + a cheap Gaggia
Then upgrade grinder, and later a HX.

Ya upgrading is a painful time consuming process. Ok I think I will suggest he to get an Expobar and a decent grinder

I'm new to the coffee world. I'm now using a hario grinder + french press. I'm also doing research on expresso equipments, and am thinking about the same as many of you suggested: Expobar Office Pulsar / Leva 1 + Eureka Mignon.

However, by saying that "Upgrading is in fact a learning process. The money saved probably can't buy the fun and experience/knowledge obtained.", does it mean that there's something we could learn from a EC155 but not from an Office Pulsar (I know you said EC155 could be skipped, but just want to clarify), and from 600N but not from Mignon?

BTW since I have to take care of my daughters in the morning (don't really trust the maid and don't want my girls to like the maid more than she likes us), I usually only make coffee during weekends and holidays.
