but the grinder looks like MIC product.
grinder quality ok.

not ? at all la, I always do more than 1 month research and
consideration before buying any machine; since do not like upgrade or
any waste.
Resell anything loss a lot.
mic :
1 - never seen 1 single thing no place of origin.
No mention MIJ = MIC to me, and there are people saying MIC +
there are non MIC part inside; assembly in China I think.
2 - outer box , clearly shipped from China to Japan before.
3 - not as perfect as I thought, plastic part NOT perfect. Not Japan quality plastic.
anyway, this is the 2nd best ELECTRIC home grinder for drip besides M3 grinder.
Test done with Robur 75mm 380W, M3, 600N, K10, SJ, 700S + a Japan low speed flat grinder.
So far, M3>R-220>700S>Robur>K10>600N>J>SJ  |

There are 2 types of R220. One with teeth burr and the other with flat burr.
Do you mean yours is a flat burr one?

NO ar, mine is ghost teeth grinding burr.
Yours is the first one ? Mine is the second.
I sent photos, waiting their reply.
I know there are 2 kind of burr, I have k10 sure need a ghost teeth for drip.
I just find out 2 kind of body 100v and 220v not the same.
also they put a red button on my black grinder. yours same ??
poor QC and manufacturer, now I understand and
confirm they only reserved best thing for themselves in Japan,
bad Moon Rabbit kettle experience before.
They told the seller not possible offer perfect kettle due to high demand.
now the grinder.
em, I think if Tiamo makes ghost teeth, no big difference.
if they have the same mechanism; may be order ghost burr.
THX for sharing.
There is a MIJapan gas roaster, direct fire, I have seen once at the internet, quite stable, discovery assembly in Shenzhen, I hope quality good too, check over the Korea 300g one, but it takes large space ... |

Dear Bib,
Mine is ghost teeth of 100V, body and switch in black.
The outlook of the machine had not changed for many years.
I think the quality is typical Japanese craftsmanship standard.
Yes, Discovery is assembled in China.
I visited the factory for demonstration before buying one.
However, don't expect a micro size roaster to be much consistent.
By the way, I am considering buy another with Flat burr for dip. Kono have a yellow one OEM one by Royal Fuji but the price is doubled.

Hi Simon,
The 100V you direct from Japan ?
If you have a good transformer, 100v is better than 110.
or get another 100 adapter.
You bring it back or by mail ?
Sounds good, you found the best price of your R-220 .
I know kono one, but flat burr - double price of R-220,
M3 is best for those making, save $ for best coffee if I were you.
do you mind to try 700s, I think not bad with its Italian burr.

The R220 I bought is 220V model, I got it from Taiwan. Usually 220V do not have stock need to wait (they will place order to Japan and need to wait for their shipment from Japan to Taiwan.

100V version with best quality.
100V+ transformer are better.
thats why cafes use 100V + transformer.

Unfortunately, I could not withstand temptation and bought a Kono together with their specially modified M5 (広?タイプ).

I have to make a correction regarding the price of Fuji and Kono.
The Japanese price of Fuji and Kono are 43,000 and 47,000 Yen respectively.
I bought my Kono at 1.5 x the price of Fuji in Taiwan.
