If your grinder in normal condition as all other 600N,
then congratulation.
Your 4020 MAY need a finer grind. Good bor.
But as your describing, your 1.5 may be = our 1.6-1.7 wor.
But the "la" ?... 4020 can do wor !!
Sorry, from your writing, I just guess the machine has not been warmed up enough,
you use 1.5 setting for grind and always get too fast extraction flow.
Not as hot as you expect. Just my guess.
I always flush machine what ever machine it is.
I like to have fresh water for each cup.
Assume all machine is clean and water is fresh and clean.
Turn it on and pump 100cc water out from 4020.
Wait 12minutes with empty PF and the basket on the group head.
I would flush about 10secounds for 4020.
actually I would put the cup for warming it with the flushed water.
When finish the tamping, turn the brewing button on again to see the water still too hot or not hot enough...
After the cooling flush, lock the PF immediately and start to brew.
If for espresso, drink immediately, I think it is hot enough to drink.
For latte, when finish brewing the espresso.
Turn the button to brew the water for steaming.
ONCE the lights off, steam the milk immediately.
Pillowpaky teach me the steam only enough for 150cc milk in 300cc jug.
WE MUST FINISH THE FROTHING WITHIN the STEAM GOES OUT.
If you are NOT a fast person, it is better for you to do it twice if you don't mind. Or use Evolution.
*** Best Latte for me should comes with sweet milk=
Sweet milk never in "la" ? condition.
May be it is hot enough in winter

To Bib: ????1.7 , espresso ?????~ ??????1.5, espresso ????, ?? speed ??....and also i always wait until the orange light go off then brew espresso.... maybe next time let more water come out then start to brew to see
But if espresso use 1 "Full" shot glass with 150cc milk will that be too much?

If counted by the gram of ground coffee 12.6-8g for 4020;
it should be between Single 7-8g to double 14-16g ...
1.6-1.7 shot between Single and Double shot, around 50cc espresso can be extracted...
But about 150cc or a little less milk should fit the normal latte cup size.
You can find it from Pillowpaky latte art post, it is perfect.
But normally depends on the espresso colour to finish the exaction.
So, the number is meaningless.
All numbers are for reference only, no body can exact same volume every time to get the perfect shot.
Hope can solve the problem together.
