Yes, like bees or humming birds sipping nectar from flowers. The liquid should pass beyond your teeth and go to the back of your throat. Long straw helps to cool down the liquid and it's also helpful to drink from another cup across the table. Cold drinks should post no problem at all.
It is also the way I recommend my patients to drink soft drinks and to avoid getting caries too. |

The way Irish people like their Guinness served is you should be able to sign your name with a toothpick on the head (i.e. foam) when the glass is full and still be able to see it at the bottom of the glass when you've finished the drink.
By the same token, May I propose you drink your latte with straw to avoid messing up the beautiful latte art and milk foam?  Of course you may use the straw to etch any pattern with specail meaning on the foam when you're enjoying the brew and the unpredictable result is an added bonus. |
