Specific heat capacity water = 4.187 kJ/kgK
Exobar Office Leva 2, 1.5L brew boiler + 1.5L steam boiler.
Assume the both boilers heat up the water from 20degree C to 100degreec
Total energy consumed = 4.187 * 1.5 * 2 * (100-20) = 1005kJ.
Living in Kowloon, the lowest rate of electicity is 75.7 + 11.8 cents per 1kWhr, then, 1005 / 3600 * (75.7 + 11.8) = 24.4cents = $0.244.
Normally, I turn on the coffee machine twice everyday and brew 2 cups of coffee. Just assume 15% more energy consumed in brewing, say, daily electricity fee for espresso operation = 2 * 0.244 * 1.15 = $0.56, this figure is not really significant!
