I do own a giggia machine, I found that the temp surfs too much even with PID installed, the boiler is simply too small. But I found ec155's espresso is pretty good, it has more focus and clarity whereas giggia's 58mm grouphead taste more complex, but it isn't necessarily better, depends on how you like your espresso.
If both were at the same price, and if you are focus only on espresso like I am, I might suggest you to buy the giggia, but at 3k vs 1k, no point really.
At the <7000 price range, I haven't found a really good machine yet, so stick with the one you got, and if you need a new machine, I would suggest a ec155, espresso machine isn't the most important factor afterall.
