hi alvin,
good to find another new gaggia classic user. i am sort of a new user too.

i am no experienced brewers like the others are. however i can offer some obvious opinions on your shot.

1) the extraction was merely 18sec , maybe you can try updosing it or grinding finer

i have a few questions of my own i hope maybe you or anyone can offer some insights on it.

1) when i dose 19g into the basket, it tasted best , but it often channels it one way or another because the screen scratches the puck when it locks in. Tried downdosing it to 18g with finer grind but wouldnt get the same depth of taste to the shot. any solutions ?

errr. 30cc with that amount of crema sounds too short for me though.

have you tasted it? how did it taste? taste is the most important.

yea... the finest should be okay. a bit finer and it'd struggle to come out (~20ml in 25sec) with coffee , just a bit coarser and i'd get too quick a flow (~60ml in 20 sec). with my setting now i get about 40ml-50ml in 25sec, but i'd see uneven tiger straps , or sometimes early blonde at 20sec.

i figured 18.5-19g tastes best on my classic+feima combo. Now i'm struggling to solve the channeling problem.
