Congratulation to caffè HABITU, another Hong Kong roaster to get a high score of 92 points from coffeereview.com on Classico No.3 Espresso Blend

To me, local coffee scene is getting better and I can only hope Fresh/hkcoffee.com and caffè HABITU wont be the only two Hong Kong roasters to achieve such international recognitions.
For Habitu, however, I hope to see they make this Classico No.3 Espresso Blend more accessible to general public sooner than later. At least I dont see it at its Taikoo branch today and can only wonder where a customer can get this coffee to appreciate homegrown talents like this.

believe 92 fun coffee selling this price in commercial cafe ?
96 fun single origin selling USD$12- per cup in USA,
92 fun what do you think ?
Sure, their roaster is one of the best roaster in town.
Business - budget - profit - I am not sure, since the location makes me feel I am paying the rent not specialty coffee at all.
Sorry, this is the actual situation in HK.

Seriously, getting 92 pt. in CR isn't hard nowadays. I dont know it's ppl starting to know how to crack the scoring system or CR is getting generous, or both.
yet the more I read the more I feel 95 pt is the true borderline of outstanding coffee (in CR's rating) vs the rest. it doesn't take excotic beans to get a espresso blend to 90-94 (say, social coffee's blends).. there are very little espresso blend in 95+ and expensive SO dominate this area..
?? : The guy who roast this 92 pt blend for habitu is my good friend.

some q-graders told me to -10fun of their review is almost the actual marks.
really  always give 90fun above = e+ 90fun = before 80fun 
those guy, I just suspect they do not even know what is cupping.
sure cupped by 1 person, 0-99 fun are meaningless to me.
anyway, believe the green bean label is enough to know and guarantee.
attitude about 2000m small bean must be good bean, whatever wash semi or dry process.
Taste note , don't play the consumer anymore,
when ready to brew after roast , all other issue, temperature, moisture, days of storage til it past the tip top drinking days.
different time different taste note.
Anyway, there are still million people believe ?? what is good restaurant.
All are personal feeling no harm !! |
