I read an old post about modifying 4050 (????) start by fieldmice last year. Who guys know how to do it? I am using the xp 4050 and experiencing the flow too fast or machine stopping problem. Anyone could share your experience?

Flow rate and Dwell time(the time from the pump starts to the first drop of coffee) is directly proportional to internal pressure.
The machine shut off at app 10 bar or so, what you need to brew espresso is 9 bar.

So....

What you have to do if not modifying the machine, is to tune the flow rate to 25sec 30cc on the grind, tune the dwell time on the dose to lower down the brewing pressure.

In the correct dwell time, you can possibly brew a good shot without modding the machine.
