coffee forum, ?????, ?????, fresh coffee beans and tea house

Stumbled across this forum while I'm searching for coffee equipment in HK. Wow, I thought I was alone in Hong Kong with my insanity about coffee. Looks like there are even crazier people than I around

So my CR-100 just broke (motor runs, but doesn't heat up). Does anyone know where in HK I can take to repair this thing? I can't get through the week without fresh coffee!

If not, where can I find a supplier for cheap home roaster? Did some search around the net, seems like the price for the same equipment costs more in HK than if I were to mail order from the US.

English and chinese reply both ok, I can read chinese, I just can't type it.

1. The design voltage
Most likely 110V, and sometimes 120V.
Additional step down transformer with 2000VA or above will cost you more than $3xx.

2. The fragile parts
Airmail with insurance which cover the risk of brokage is more expensive.

3. Warranty
No need to explain .............

I'm sure Landy has some amazing coffee, but part of the fun is drinking our own roast, and tweak it again and again the next time. That's why I want to get the roaster repaired or replaced.

I'll be sure to check out his shop when I get the thing fixed.

I understand all that, I'll probably just go and buy a new one... now all I have to do is find somewhere that has a good deal.

Although that DIY converted rotisserie oven in another thread is amazing.

So Paul from Just Java referred me to STS. Getting an iRoast2 delivered to my office tomorrow ($1800).

Damn that's fast.

My old roaster breaking may be a good thing in disguise. I would've never found this wonderful community of lunatics otherwise. I thought I was the only person in HK roasting his own coffee.

220V i-Roast2 is good, it is easy to operate and have non-volatile memory.
Remember not to roast more than 120g of beans at a time (user manual say 150g)
