Under normal situations, the more coffee you use, the longer the time it takes for the extraction. The 2 examples above illustrates well a contradiction in timing, as the less coffee it took, the more the the extraction took place. That's due to channeling, which makes timing useless as a reference.
I would try to use a smaller coffee weight first, e.g. 16-17 g to see a more even extraction. And if the extraction can be more even, then increase the coffee dosage incrementatlly by roughly 0.5 g.
A constant tamping pressure would be important for the test comparisons. |

LittleCup, thx for your insight, I will do more experiments during weekend. Perhaps I need to get some more consistent tamping tool to speed up my learning. |
